Prof. Dimitar Kisliakov, Chairman of the BUNCOLD and lecturer at the UACEG. What is happening in Pernik is a signal light for Sofia.
This was said by Prof. Dimitar Kisliakov, Chairman of the Bulgarian National Committee on Large Dams and lecturer at the University of Architecture,
Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), in the program "Business Start" with presenter Zhivka Popatanasova.
"Within 25 years, nothing was done for the alternative water supply of Sofia," Kisliakov pointed out.
According to him, sooner or later a similar crisis will follow in the capital as well, since its population has already increased by 1 million citizens.
"One has to think about the problems and work strategically." The guest pointed out that Bulgaria is generally one of the poorest countries in Europe
in terms of water resources per capita. "It is a rule in principle that such countries should build a lot of Hydraulic Engineering facilities and dams in particular," he added.
